Shipping Insurance
Eligible shipments created using Ya'Mar's integrated shipping services are automatically covered by shipment insurance currently provided through ParcelGuard. Shipping insurance helps protect eligible shipments against certain covered losses or damage that may occur while the package is in transit.
ParcelGuard is an independent third-party shipment insurance provider. Ya'Mar is not the insurer and does not determine insurance eligibility, coverage, exclusions, claim approvals, reimbursement amounts, or claim outcomes.
What is ParcelGuard?
ParcelGuard is a third-party shipping insurance provider that helps protect eligible shipments against covered loss or damage while packages are in transit. Are All Shipments Automatically Insured?
Eligible shipments created through Ya'Mar's integrated shipping services are automatically covered by ParcelGuard shipment insurance. Coverage applies only to eligible shipments and remains subject to ParcelGuard's terms, exclusions, coverage limits, and claims requirements. Coverage may not apply if shipment requirements are not met or if the shipment falls within an excluded category.
What Does ParcelGuard Generally Cover?
Depending on the circumstances and eligibility requirements, ParcelGuard may provide coverage for qualifying shipments that experience:
-
Loss during transit
-
Damage during transit
-
Certain carrier-related shipping incidents
-
Eligible shipments that cannot be successfully delivered due to covered events
Coverage varies depending on the shipment, carrier, destination, declared value, documentation provided, and ParcelGuard's applicable terms.
What Isn't Covered?
Certain shipments, products, or situations may not be eligible for insurance coverage.
Examples may include:
-
Prohibited or restricted items
-
Fraudulent transactions
-
Improper packaging
-
Damage caused before shipment
-
Ordinary wear and tear
-
Incorrect addresses supplied by the sender or buyer
-
Certain high-risk products
-
Shipments excluded under ParcelGuard's terms and conditions
Additional exclusions may apply.
Signature Requirements
Some high-value shipments may require Signature Confirmation or Adult Signature Confirmation in order to remain eligible for insurance coverage.
Failure to purchase required signature services for eligible shipments may affect insurance coverage or claim eligibility.
Required Documentation
If an insurance claim is submitted, ParcelGuard may require supporting documentation before reviewing the claim.
Depending on the claim, documentation may include:
-
Order information
-
Tracking information
-
Shipping label information
-
Proof of shipment
-
Proof of delivery
-
Photos of the package and damaged item
-
Photos of the shipping label
-
Proof of value, such as invoices or receipts
-
Communication regarding the shipment
-
Any additional information reasonably requested during the claims process
Failure to provide requested documentation may delay or prevent claim approval.
Claim Deadlines
Insurance claims should be submitted as soon as reasonably possible after a shipment is lost or damaged.
Claim eligibility and filing deadlines are determined by ParcelGuard and may vary depending on the carrier, shipment type, destination, and nature of the claim.
Claims submitted after applicable deadlines may not qualify for coverage.
How Do Insurance Claims Work?
If an eligible shipment is lost or damaged during transit:
-
Report the issue through Ya'Mar if applicable.
-
Retain all packaging materials and damaged items until instructed otherwise.
-
Provide any requested documentation.
-
Cooperate with any investigation conducted by Ya'Mar, the carrier, or ParcelGuard.
-
ParcelGuard will review the claim in accordance with its applicable terms and conditions.
Insurance claim approval is determined solely by ParcelGuard.
ParcelGuard Insurance vs. Ya'Mar Shield
Although both programs help protect marketplace transactions, they serve different purposes.
ParcelGuard Insurance
ParcelGuard protects eligible shipments against certain covered shipping-related losses or damage that occur while a package is in transit. Insurance claims are administered by ParcelGuard and are subject to ParcelGuard's coverage requirements, exclusions, documentation requirements, and claims procedures.
Ya'Mar Shield
Ya'Mar Shield is Ya'Mar's Buyer and Seller Protection program. It helps resolve eligible marketplace issues such as items that are not received, significantly not as described, damaged on arrival, certain qualifying returns, disputes, and other situations covered under the Ya'Mar Shield Protection Policy. Ya'Mar Shield is not shipping insurance and does not replace ParcelGuard insurance. Likewise, ParcelGuard insurance does not replace, expand, or guarantee coverage under Ya'Mar Shield. A shipment may qualify under one program, both programs, or neither program depending on the circumstances.
